Needle biopsy is mainly for the following patients:

1. The diameter of the nodule is more than 1cm, and ultrasound examination shows malignant signs (such as solid hypoechoic, unclear boundary, irregular shape, microcalcification inside the nodule, aspect ratio of the nodule>1, abundant blood flow inside the nodule, etc.) Thyroid nodules.

2. For thyroid nodules with a diameter of Less than or equal to 1cm, routine needle biopsy is not recommended. However, if one of the following conditions exists:

Ultrasound examination revealed nodules with signs of malignancy;

B-ultrasound examination revealed cervical lymph node metastasis;

History of neck radiation exposure or exposure to radiation contamination in children and adolescents;

Family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia type II (MEN2);

With abnormally elevated serum calcitonin levels;

Positive PET-CT imaging, suggesting high uptake foci;
